A short-shafted Chelsea boot with elastic gussets on both sides and a pull tab at the heel. The heel sits 6 mm above the toes and measures 20 mm: enough for the step to roll without tipping the foot forward. The sole flexes at the forefoot as you push off, so the foot works more than it would inside a rigid boot; you feel it underfoot for the first few weeks and then you stop noticing. The tread has shallow, widely spaced lugs that shed dry mud and hold on wet concrete.
